Beyond for Switzerland A2+ Unit 4: Communicative Activities

These communicative activities give students opportunities to use English meaningfully while exploring food, cooking, quantities, and cultural habits. They are self‑created activities designed to support and extend the work done in Beyond for Switzerland A2+ Unit 4. Through speaking, vocabulary, grammar, and cultural reflection tasks, learners practise expressions of quantity, food‑related language, and everyday communication. Each activity encourages interaction and helps students apply Unit 4 language in familiar, real‑world contexts.

• Practising expressions of quantity, including countable and uncountable nouns, how much vs. how many, and some/any
• Discussing food choices in different situations and comparing ideas with classmates
• Completing a “Find someone who” speaking activity focused on food and cooking habits
• Revising Unit 4 vocabulary through a speak, act, or draw card game in small groups
• Completing a vocabulary and grammar test to show understanding of Unit 4 language
• Reflecting on table manners at home and comparing them with customs in other countries, with optional research
